Cecil Hershler is a medical doctor based in Vancouver Canada, who specialized in treating chronic pain. But his dilemma was that he hated prescribing opioids to his patients and thus began a journey to find a different way to treat chronic pain by deep listening and storytelling.  As a doctor and creative artist, he developed this methodology through innovative workshops from which he had tremendous success. He is now retired and writes poetry. This is the story of his journey.
